This site has been a janky, problematic, weird mess, and I will remember it fondly as such. To the people who made this place cool and weird: thank you. It was really, really nice to have a place to go to where it felt equally appropriate to post infrared landscapes and villainess screencaps, and in that regard, Cohost is basically impossible to replace, probably. To folks who are re-embarking into the dangerous seas of social media and even more so to the folks who are looking forward to eschewing services in favor of plying the uncharted waters of pure RSS: make sure not to curate new spaces for yourself that are too homogeneous. Seek out and listen to folks who are oppressed, minoritized, or marginalized in different ways than you are. We should try to do better than we ever did here.
