Got a [[Nextlevel Pulsar]] as a birthday gift. I've been wanting one to experiment with tea brewing, specifically, with percolation instead of immersion for tea extraction. (When I dug into tea extraction research a while back, one of the things that came up for extracting desirable flavors without bitterness was a moving water column -- obviously in that case using lab equipment that I don't have, but I'm curious what can be done.)
I tried a couple of brews using [[Floating Leaves 2024 Smooth Water Baozhong]] and the stock paper filters. Initial results have somewhat muted flavor but silky mouthfeel and good fragrance. I tried brewing as a single pour as well as in two steep-and-release phases.
Will continue experimenting, it's fun. I may also try brewing coffee with it at some point. The recipes normally used for modern zero bypass brewing seem pretty complicated and over the top though.
