> (Note: I plan to add to this record as I go. Hopefully keeping it free/pay what you want' will work for people to download new tracks as I add them if they care to. If this doesn't work for anyone please let me know and I'll send you free download codes. Not trying to make money, just to share these musical ideas.)

> Two of my main pursuits in this life are the practice of music and the practice of solidarity. The former includes studying, arranging, composing and physical practice of my primary and secondary instruments. The latter includes sustained practical solidarity with working, marginalized, and incarcerated people, and against racism, fascism, homo/transphobia, misogyny, anti-semitism, and all forms of oppression by the carceral system, bosses, or bigots. (This includes struggle within as well against internalized manifestations of privilege as a white-skinned, male-assigned person born on colonized land.) These musical and extra-musical pursuits require commitments that I have worried at times distract from each other, though I have found that each ultimately informs and reinforces the other, both in what could be called a 'spiritual' (i.e., internal) realm, and also in the 'real' (i.e., social) world.

> Most of these songs I have played for decades, as practice vehicles at home and at public concerts and benefits. The arrangements have evolved over time, and it seems like now is a good time to document them.

> I find working on music that speaks to the values I aspire to living by helps me to focus, both as a musician and as a human being. Maybe in small ways sharing these radical practice pieces can be of use to others as well.
